  • Re: More P2 questions

They're shooting to an external P2 recorder (i believe) so i assumed that the footage would be .mxf using the avc intra codec, if not it sounds like they're gonna have a tough job cutting it! So basically if in the cutting room they copy/transcode the footage into their adrenaline (at SD compression, assuming that the P2 cards not recording

  • More P2 questions

Hi, Ive got a project coming up thats going to be shot on the Arri D21 with P2, offlined on Media composer at a different company then drives with all the P2 media on plus an AFE/AAF/Avid Bin supplied to me for online conform on DS10.1. Does anyone know a good work flow for this? Obviously i don't want to copy all the footage to my local storage

Cheers, the new hi-res workflow guide is a lot clearer than the previous documentation, especially when it comes to explaining how DS works with LUTs.

Cheers Sylvain, i took supported to mean real time playable, my mistake. We're looking at both film and tape workflows with the DS doing the conform and online but the grade being done in a dedicated telecine suite, what is going to be the main difference between the 2 workflows from a DS point of view?

  • Re: RedDecoder.exe not installing

Have now managed to get the RedDecoder.exe to install by downloading the DS V10.1.2, however i am still unable to get realtime playback on my system in either 2k or 4k linked R3D files (on local storage), i am running version 10 on an xw8400 with Nitris though i haven't read anything that says this platform can't handle it.

  • RedDecoder.exe not installing

Hi, Been trying to get some Red files playing back in realtime but to no avail. Have uninstalled MetaFuze and reinstalled the DsComServer twice, it has installed the RedWrapper.dll but not the RedDecoder.exe, meaning i can link to the files but have to render them to play them back. Any ideas as to how to get the RedDecoder.exe file to install?

  • Re: Real time proxy - not real time.

Though it was possible on the xw8400 with the FX3500 running DS V8.4. Is it because V10 tries to use the graphics card for this process whereas V8.4 would be utilising the Nitirs hardware? If so is it possible to force the DS to use the Nitris hardware?
