I have no problem creating ALE compatible files from within word. It seems to be make more sense to do them from within EXCEL though. No matter what options I use I cannot get AVID Media Composer to see my excel created ALE's Avid Log Exchange sees them and I created my template by exporting an existing bin as an ALE and opening it as Tab Delimited

If I know the names of the original MXF files of the clips I want. Can I find the media from within avid or create an ALE that I can import to a bin which will relink to the existing media? Struggling so far Ian

Thanks for the swift response, I am demoing it now. The timecode is there, but the tape no seems to be gibberish, just the MXF code. Also although it is reading the MXF file, it doesnt seem to marry up the video and audio file. Am I missing something. Thanks

Excuse me if I am being daft but when I have finished my sequences I have been using the export to HDV Device function to create a m2t file and then creating beautiful Bluray/Standard Def DVDS. No mixdowns, no squeeze. Dead simple and easy and great workflow. Ian
