Re: Backing up omfi files to DVD

A Quick way would be to use media tool and consolidate the media to another drive if you have one, then burn those files to DVD. You can identify the consolidated media by the modification date of the file.

In MC 3.0 I think you open the Locator Window. In the hamburger at the bottom you select "Export Locators".

I also got that error when I was using that set up. It's probably a software bug. They may not have expected people to be still using that system in 2008. I think you can just ignore the message

EDL Comments

You may have noticed that when you open up EDL Manager, one of the options is to display Comments. Assuming that the sequence is anamorphic, you need to apply the 16:9 reformat effect before you export. This will letterbox the clip. OR, If it's for quicktime you could also adjust the dimensions to something that is in the 16:9 aspect ratio

I don't think Avid Xpress Pro runs on Leopard. You are going to have to upgrade to Media Composer 3 or install Mac OS X Tiger in order to run Xpress Pro

Hide Locators based on user

I know you can hide locators in a timeline by colour. Is there a way to hide them by the user who created them? It would also be nice to be able to hide them from the locator window

I believe that you can. Go to Command Palette -> Trim There should be commands for: Trim A Side Trim B Side Trim AB Sides Cycle Trim Sides Map those commands to your keyboard you are good to go

Re: Deleted master clips keep re-appearing in bin

It's possible that in Bin A you had the Bin display set to show Reference clips. Since the sequence in the bin keeps referencing those clips, they will keep showing up.
