  • Virus Protection

Viruses are a real problem on any computer system. Especially if your system is out in the freelance world with multiple users adding files from removeable drives. Protect yourself and your system by being sure your virus protection is installed and up to date. See the link for advice on how to protect your Deko Family products. http://avid.custkb.com

  • Re: Post Deko on Windows 7 64-bit

The standard install will automatically install the HASP driver. If you are installing off a disk there may be a problem with the files. If you have a service contract you can get the latest PostDeko software online. If you are still having problems you can contact Avid On Air Graphics Support. Both PostDeko and PostDeko for Editors are currently on

  • Re: clip simultaneously playing

The clip codecs on each channel are separate, so unlike earlier versions of Deko, where you could route a single clip to play on Channel A, Channel B or both, the clips playing on Channel A and Channel B are independent. Any clips playing in layers are also independent, so you could have one or more clips playing at the same time, each triggered independently

  • Re: power clips as replicable object

Power clips are available as an option on Deko3000. But the replacement of Power Clip layers through DekoSelect (the newsroom plug in) is not available. Any template fulfilled through DekoSelect can contain Power Clips, but the newsroom will not be able to view those layers or replace them with alternate media.

Sorry, but the new Power Clip feature is not a replaceable element in DekoSelect.

  • Re: converting .mov files to MXF DV compression

Power clips are a new feature that can play small clips (i.e. not rendered to the size of the output). But this feature is available on Deko3000 only. Cel animations are a series of files, generally .tga or .tif, that can play as a flip book to create animations. These are also rendered smaller than other graphic files. So if you saw multiple videos

  • Re: converting .mov files to MXF DV compression

Hello Diego, Deko has the capability to play only 2 videos (clips) at a time, one in the background and another in a rectangular layer. Either of those clips can be video only or video and key. And the import process is exactly what you said - an .mov file is transcoded to an .mxf file when importing on Deko. So it sounds like your Deko is behaving

  • Re: More 3D questions!

Hi Stu, Powerclips are playing fine mapped to 3D objects, I am not getting any freeze frame. You need to take this issue up with support. I will have to look further into items 2 & 3. More to come. thanks,

  • Re: After Effects .ffx preset to Avid Deko

Hi Scott, AE .ffx files can not be read into Deko. Any character based animations, such as kerning, positioning or opacity changes, are done via Deko Motion. You need to have the Option for Motion Timeline. If you are uncertain go to Window>Select Layout>Motion. The motion timeline will have icons allowing keyframes to be added (arrow with + near
