  • 5D mark II work flow canon?

I posted this on the Mac forum as well, but i didnt want to miss out on any good info you PC guys might have. I just got my new 5D mark II the other day, and wanted to figure out a good workflow with avid. I tried importing a few clips and wow does those clips take up some space. • Canon 5D Mark II Workflow??

I just got my new 5D mark II the other day, and wanted to figure out a good workflow with avid. I tried importing a few clips and wow does those clips take up some space. I think there is something wrong, for example the original mov file would be 300mb and once i imported it into avid the file was 700mb... why is it taking some much space? Anyway i

  • Re: Canon XHA1 workflow

I read found this in another thread: " The Canon F modes are nearly the same as JVC and others are doing with a P. It stands for the progressive modes of the Canon devices. And because it is progressive you have to set the timeline to progressive before you start capture. e.g. for a 1440x1080 25F "or 24F?" timeline you have to open the

  • Canon XHA1 workflow

I am trying to figure out how to get my Canon XHA1 and MC 3.0 to become better friends. I am having a hard time importing / exporting. So far it seems 24f doesn’t work (still checking), so I am using 30f now. I would like to start this thread to talk about the XHA1 and Avid workflow. I have done a lot of research and it seems there are a lot of

  • Re: Canon 24F HDV from XH-A1

Moviemaker 76, Thanks for the info.... it's a little harder then what you put, but i think it might work. For example i shot some footage yesterday in 30f, and i did as you said and set the timeline for 1080i/60i and it seems that there is a time code issue. The timecode jumps around like its dropping or adding frames. So if someone can post some

  • Re: Canon 24F HDV from XH-A1

I am using MC 3.0 and NO luck importing 24f from Canon XHA1. Hopefully Avid will fix this soon? I have read some different work arounds but that means other software for import then extra time for import into avid (a real pain in the ***) So it looks like for now with our stuck with 30i or 60i. I had to use Final Cut pro to cut some stuff i shot in

  • Avid basics guide in a PDF?

I am a travel filmmaker and find it difficult to lug around the huge Avid user manual that it came with. So my question, is there a pdf file of the guide i can download and keep on my laptop?
