Ok, booted into 10.4 and QT 7.3. Fire up Avid with the cam hooked up and turned on..... Avid spins.... and spins... and spins... never fully opens and I have to force quit and re-start the computer. Fire up Avid with the cam hooked up and turned off... Avid starts as usual, fire up the capture tool and can't get an input signal or the deck to properly

Actually..... I began with Avid on this system using 10.4, along with the proper version of QT. Sorry to say, but it didn't work then either.

An upgrade is possible,... I just want to make sure that the GL2 is going to work with Composer pre-purchase. Avid Xpress Pro was a big purchase for us and I don't feel that we've gotten our money's worth out of it at this point. Have tried this multiple times. Any suggestions on deck settings that might work with the GL2? I've gone through MANY of them without luck.

After Auto-Configure it says "No Deck". I've tried launching AVID several ways, camera on/off connected/disconnected. Doesn't seem to matter, Avid doesn't recognize or even seem to see the deck. I'm currently using Avid Xpress Pro 5.8 (has been a complete nightmare) and can't use my Canon GL2 as a deck for captures. If I were to upgrade to Media Composer would I be able to capture from the GL2? Anyone have personal experience with this? Thanks, rusty

Ok, just to make sure I'm following you.... If the final product is to be in 16:9..... I edit the video as normal using a mix of the 4:3 and 16:9 source. Then.... I will need to apply the Reformat --> 16:9 Letterbox Effect to each clip that is 4:3. Am I on the right track here? After this effect is applied can I export as normal? Thanks again
