preserving aspect ratio

anyone know why when you export a 16:9 sd show out of Nitris @ 720 486, it plays in windows media and quicktime as a .9 aspect show? Any way to tell Nitris on the way out that it should stay at 1.2? Thanks AB

why do we have to pay for upgrades / updates

I can see for like version 11 vs. 10 or something like that, but it's pretty greedy to ask for money for every new bug fix or addition that Avid comes up with. you would think that the insane cost of these suites would give the users a lifetime of updates...not the case at all Just my thoughts sorry if this offends anyone

thats a great question Brian! I as well use FCP and route directly to my ds and capture from there when trying to deal with p2 based footage. I'm sure there is a way to get it into your machine, it probably just takes 35 steps. Nothing is quick and easy with Nitris.

Device Template

Hey buddies..... I just spent a whole day logging footage and am now ready to capture, We rented a digi beta deck and I had deck control and was viewing the footage fine all day. NOW, when I go to begin a batch capture I'm getting the "cannot find valid template for this device...please contact soft image PSS." Anyone got an idea what

adding a cool camera shake to a composited shot?

anyone know if there is an easy way to create some good camera shake in DS. I've messed around hand keyframing a DVE on my composite container, but it looks really fake. Any other suggestions? Thanks as usual Avid users

adding motion blur to text thats been tracked onto an object

hey guys, How would I go about adding motion blur to a text object in the graphics app. I have a piece of text tracked to a bazooka and I'd love to add some blur to it as its moving pretty fast and shouldn't be as readable as it is. Any help out there would rule! Thanks AB
