I have to agree. I have been using Avid for 13 years and back then on Version 5 the effects editor was enough. Now however things have become far more complex and the current layout is simply not good enough.

I often need to digitize audio without video, for example voiceover. When ever I try to digitize the audio without a video input, it appears to work but nothing appears in my bin once I stop recording. If I patch video into the system but still only digitize the audio tracks it works fine. If I change to my co editors settings I can digitize audio without

Thanks Marianna, I will read the PDF. I thought it was odd that I was running out of memory with my graphics card having 512mb and my system having 16 gigs. Cheers.

I keep getting the following error message when working with unrendered effects "unable to allocate memory for operation" They render fine but I can't see them unrendered. Imagine a command timeline. You could drag icons from the command palette, and some additional ones like "keystrokes" and "wait for dialogue box then do..." and even "wait till process (like render) finishes then do..." onto this timeline and then assign a single keystroke to activate that saved command timeline.
