  • Re: Avid News - Why the SUPER Emphasis on NAB Attendees?

Avid is bad at provding info lol. What is really sad is that some people still think you have to import footage in MC. Not sure if that is avid fault or the people making those comments but I would love to Avid be a lot more vocal and putting out info concerning MC new version, look, as well as some training on Title tool +

  • Re: Effect on Top (Graphic) Layer Only

[quote user="Terry Snyder"] I put an alpha channel graphic on V2 on top of a video clip on V1. I want to add a transition (spin, swish pan, etc.) at the head of the graphic on V2 to animate the way the graphic comes onto the screen. However, the effect also effects the bottom video layer. I only want it to effect the graphic on V2. Is there

Well it seems most people just export an AAF out to Resolve and color grade there then send it back to MC. Resolve is free or you could get the paid version. It would be nice to just stay in MC to do all the CC work. Baselight for MC is about 995.

  • avid-davinci roundtrip question

Hey, I imported an AAF sequence into resolve to do some color work. When I sent the sequence back to MC I notice some grain in the blacks. I don't see the issue in resolve though. Could it be a setting that I missed that is causing this. I am on MC 8.4 and Resolve 15. Exported with resolve default AFF preset, Format MXF Op-ATOM, codec DNxHD, type

  • Re: Media Composer 2018.12 Now Available

It seems like they have been working on it for over a year so not sure why it would have been rushed out. Unless they just decided to release knowing it wasn't 100% ready just to have it out there.
