Avid should do a better job of letting newbies know stuff liket this. the more avid shows what it can do the better for future editors trying to decide on a NLE. may not seem like a big thing but it gives a deeper insight into how MC has little touches that can add to ones edit process

You know I didnt think about that. Was doing some work and thought it should be something to look at. Honesty I don't like that about MC, I am not a big fan of how MC works with nesting effects. O well

Hi I would like Avid to add the ability to apply a filter to the track itself. This way any clip that is added to that track would have the effect on it. This way if I want to add a pip effect to a clip I could just use that track. Or if I have a color correction filter I could just add the clip to the track. This is a feature I used in Liquid and thought

Hi all looking to get my first Mac in a few weeks, these are the two I was looking at. I am looking at editing HDV and I know either would be ok. One thing I am just unsure which graphic card would be better or does it matter? The bottom one is a $200 difference. Just wanted to know which one would some of you would go for. Hi I have 26 frames were someone walks through a shot recorded outside. I thought this would be a good time to learn something new. So I read the tutorial on using BCC motion key to remove an object. It worked ok but you can see changes in the background were the person use to be at. It also is affecting the two people who needs to be seen in the shot

after an hour or more of playing with timecode and custom preroll it final worked. Thanks to all for helpimg on this. dew

Ok having the hardest time getting the footage recaptured. Its all a pre-roll problem. For whatever reason I am told "failed to find pre-roll piont on tape. I am glad this is happening now when I don't have a real project. Any advice as I am at a loss.

Hi all, I screwed up and deleted the master clip and media file to a project. It was for a friend so I had put it on back end so its not a client. Still I need to know how to get this footage back so I don't have to do the edits over. Footage in the timeline shows offline. I usually fuse in Liquid and then import into Avid. I haven't noticed any quality loss. Should be all you need to do
