• Re: Advanced Timewarp & FluidFilm Techniques
Good point. I had one of the engineers at Avid actually show me how to use it. Made little sense before that.
And it still makes little sense to me. Thanks for the answer, glad to know you know how to do it and that you have friends in high places. I'll add this to The Great Avid Forums' Troubleshooting

  • Re: Composite Mode Plug-in & MC3?

It comes with the full MC pack, for PC and for Mac too, AFAIK. IMHO it shoult come as standard setting in Effec Editor. Cheers, JDf

  • Re: Composite Mode Plug-in & MC3?

Hi, if you have AvidFX, apply an "AvidFX Filter" to your upper track and, over in AvidFX interface, on the Control pane, under Composite tab, choose from "Apply Mode" the one you want. It would be great if Avid would natively implement this function in the "Superimpose" effect ("Blend" category), as well as to

  • Re: HDV capture on MC 3.0.5

Thanks. I think my problem is somewhere else... Now I'm on a Mac system, but it's the same as the PC. Most of my HVR templates are marked PAL in the end (as you can see in the screenshot) namely the HVR-Z1, which would be the "nearest" to HVR-Z5... Project format is 1080i/50, Raster Type HDV. • HDV capture on MC 3.0.5

Hi, I can't find any HDV deck template allowing me to capture HDV footage from a Sony HVR-Z5 camera connected via Firewire to a PC Avid MC 3.0.5. Remote control works, but no video input. Would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance, JDf

  • Re: Final Cut Pro project to Avid Media Composer

Thank you for the link Randall but, as clearly stated by Edit2007, he already knows about Automatic Duck. I know about it too, and most probably any Avid user trying to avoid having to cut on FCP knows about it too. The question is: "What's the best way to get a FCP Project migrated to Avid *whitout* having to buy yet another expensive tool

  • Re: Avid Software I/O

Thank you very much for your reply, I'll try to be clearer:
What "media" exactly? QT's have long been a proven export option for finished comp's in After Effects. Export from AE with an Avid codec, import into Avid. It couldn't be simpler already. Or are you requesting some form of layer

  • Avid Software I/O

    1. When (if at all) will Avid be able to easily exchange media and sequences with After Effects, Color, Shake and the rest of the world? 2. Do you plan to implement support for Apple XML (Final Cut) or other format to import/export from/to FC? 3. Would it be possible to release a comprehensive manual for console commands? Thanks, JDf
