  • Re: How to import super low res to work with without media chugging?

Ok great thanks very much. However for some reason the only ones I have to choose from under "video resolution" when I import are DNxHD 145 MXF, DNxHD 220 MXF, DNxHD 220X MXF, DVC Pro HD MXF, 1:1 MXF and 1:1 10b MXF. Is there another place I would be able to change this to DV25? Strider

Thanks a lot Mike, Ok so I did both searched of the entire system. when I searched for *.avb files almost nothing came up (5 files that looked irrelevent) but when I did the search for the *,avp files I found a million Avid OMFI Media Files. I believe the whole computer was re-set as most of my programs have lost their presets. There has got to be a way of getting my projects back though right?

  • Re: Re-linking projects

Yes I did try that. It just prompted me to open a new project and said I didn't have one selected so I made one and then it just opened the new project that was empty but didn't re link any of my old stuff. it's a bit stressful and I'm worried I have lost all of my projects. The MXF files are still there in the folder though, I just

  • Re-linking projects

Hello, my computer was having several bugs and was returned to the manufacturer who did a bunch of things to it. It looks like they have uninstalled and re-installed a lot of my programs including media composer. When I went to open it today I found that none of my projects were listed and it looks like it's completely empty. I need to know how

  • Re: Advice on computer upgrade to properly handle HD?

Thanks very much Larry. I think I am going to go with two Quadro FX 580 graphics cards and 6 extra GBs of RAM. But no Vista upgrade. Then also a 1TB external hard drive to store a lot of stuff to empty out anything unused on my drive. I'll also do the test you mentioned on a projection so I can see if the 1:1 makes a real difference or not. Thanks

Hello and thanks Kenton and Larry. I started importing 1:1 because I tried it and it looked good and exported well. I don't fully understand the difference between that and the one you mention. Would I loose resolution or what would be the difference? Some of the things I am editing need to be played on very large screens (projected) so I was just
