  • Re: Relink media to ISIS drives

We do not have an easy way at the moment to accomplish this. I discussed this with a few people here and here is a procedure that can be used: 1) Consolidate the whole Sequence from ISIS to a removable drive – note the date/time 2) Disconnect form ISIS - Work with the Sequence with media on the removable drive – add new media 3) Before reconnecting

  • Re: View online media only in IP Window

That there is no head frame is, as you noted, not a good indicator of whether the clip is online in any given resolution. Prior to MC version 3.5, the resolution column data could be stale in the Interplay Window. From 3.5 on, the resolution column data should be accurate in the Interplay Window, as in bins.

  • Re: Assist Send to Playback error for a consolidated sequence

We tried this in our lab with a sequence using only dissolves/fades. Send to playback worked with no problem using both the original sequence and the consolidated sequence. We agree that this is most likley a settings issue. I am quoting here from one of our test engineers: I believe that the issue is with an "editor database setting." We

  • Re: Media Services Engine Critical Startup error

This error indicates that the Media Services Engine cannot talk to the SQ db. The most likley reason is that SQL was not setup correctly. For Interplay the setup steps are explained in the "Interplay Media Services Installation and Configuration Guide" section "Installing Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express". I am not sure how this

  • Re: Enabling the Auto-Transcode feature

Yes, you need an Interplay Transcode Engine, In addtion, you need to install Auto Archive (which includes Auto Transcode and Auto Transfer) from the Interplay DVD (under Media Services). This service can be configured via the ASF (Avid Service Framework) Service Configuration tool

  • Re: Importing MXF OP-Atom into Interplay/Avid

2 options come to mind: 1) Resync: placing the files in a loaction on shared storage indexed by Media Indexer and then running Resync (select AvidWG in Access and then right click -> resync) will extract basic metadata and check in the clip in a special folder. Doing this on a small workspace helps speed things up. 2) Media Tool in the editor: may

  • Re: MXF OP1a DnxHD import and export

Hi, You should be able to ingest OP1a files back that are sent out via Generic FTP. In terms of FTP Media Browse version please use the one that came with Interplay 1.5 (this app is part of the Transfer Client installer) and use the corresponding editor version also. Can you please send us a screen shot of your Transfer Engine configuration of the profile

  • Re: Interplay Sent to Playback Folder

Quoting the response from one of our engineers: It is the News Cutter that checks in the sequence into the Sent to Playback folder. There was a bug in version n.4 of MC/NC where the check-in would fail unless the user had write access to the root folder of the Interplay database (AvdWG). Having write access to the Sent to Playback folder was not sufficient

  • Re: Interplay: Check in to ProTools Audio & VideoMixdowns

Posting a reply form one of our engineers: Currently, the behavior for checking in a sequence to Interplay for Pro Tools is that the check in contains all of the original video and audio tracks plus the new Audio Mixdown and/or video mixdown tracks. Right now there is no setting that will allow just the audio/video mixdown tracks to be checked in. They
