• Re: Why Interplay ?

alas, i think the season will be over before i can extricate myself from here. i was lucky enough to get to attend one game at Highbury during the last season (the game when Sol went mental and took off for Belgium), and one at Emirates last year. we've been blessed or cursed to be sort of isolated out here in the mountains, in that there hasn't

  • Re: ISIS Access Blocked ???

i've had the odd capture tool freakout since going to MC2.7 on ISIS. it will blank out your track selection buttons, you re-select them, hit the big red button, then they blank out again and tell you that there are no tracks selected and you must select at least one. this happens both when batch capturing and capturing on the fly. is there a particular
That's the thing Camoscato I'm not sure we would have dedicated media librarians which is why I have reservations.
depending on the scale of your operation, this is almost requisite. i've run 14 distinct series simultaneously, 40 offline bays, 55 Interplay Assist stations for logging, transcribing

  • Re: Trouble getting firewire drives to be seen by the media indexer

i have inconsistent problems with this. when you go into service config and set the MI Service path to the drive, do you disconnect the 1394 connection to the Adrenaline? i have better luck getting MI Service to scan drives via USB2 than Firewire for whatever reason, but i've only used them to relink then consolidate media from remote locations

  • Re: Timeline latency and redrawing issues

we're dropping frames laying back to tape from ISIS/Interplay with our Symph/DS Dual Boot Systems. DNxHD 145 (video media on local storage), but ISIS connection active to view sequence at offline resolution for reference. disabling the network connection to ISIS solves the issue - haven't bothered to check if operating wholly from the ISIS does

  • Re: P2 media recorded accross two P2 cards

ive seen this too, i think its a P2 issue, not an interplay one. i had a crew come back from Scotland with P2 media copied to a HDD as virtual cards, and the clip info will import for all the clips, but the import>p2 media function is hit or miss for some clips. i get random audio media missing (i.e. tracks 1,4 on some clips, 2,3 on others), and

  • Re: Using Multigroups in Assist

Assist currently does not support multigroups for video. as well, we've had some issues where sequences containing clips from multigroups that were checked-in/out thru the Interplay window into other bays sometimes lose track of the some of the clips in the group. that is, a 6 camera group will follow the sequence (as a reference clip) into the

  • Re: Discontinuity with Time Code

dv is a pretty flimsy format, and we actually run into problems (most prevalent on the ZR1-U in DV mode), where the camera snips frames going from the internal signal generator to the imager. if batch capturing, try to lengthen your time code break tolerance. tools > console > in the command line type : tcbreaktolerance x , with x being the number of

  • Re: Interplay for Post - where do projects go?

starwipe: We've kicked around the idea of minimizing bins, but a lot of editors really don't like it...personally I think if the Interplay window came with a better default set of working columns it would be a much easier sell :)  I know we can't get rid of bins entirely since right now editors import all of our own audio and graphic files...we

  • Re: Interplay for Post - where do projects go?

really, there are so many potential workflows with this thing, i don't know that there's a right or wrong way. to clarify, all of our offline res media is on the ISIS, and ingested solely by one scruffy looking kid in a dark room with 6 Media Composers. we only use the local storage on the DS/Symphony. i can't get a lot of our editors to let go of bins
