  • Re: DekoCast Doesn't Play Clips...Sometimes

Once again, thanks to you both for your tips! I tried loading the "defective" scene in DekoCast Central, and when that went to the hourglass, I was actually able to open the Resources window and see that there were no codecs being used; all four were listed as available. In addition, I opened the DekoCast application, connecting to the currently

Thanks for the quick reply, Dave! I don't think it's a codec issue; I ran into that once before while designing these scenes (this scene is built to have two different graphic looks for two different stations, but not simultaneously), so I've been conscious about stopping and uncuing clips that aren't being actively used. IIRC, uncuing

  • DekoCast Doesn't Play Clips...Sometimes

I'm having a strange problem with our DekoCast, something which has popped up on multiple projects at different times... Basically, I'm building a sports ticker sort of thing--video input shrunk down on top of an animated background, with a Deko layer of scores and an animated bug next to it. Everything works fine while I'm working in DekoCast

  • DekoCast & RSS Plug-In

Quick question for anyone who knows more about this than I (which means pretty much everyone...:-) ) Can the RSS Plug-In in DekoCast be pointed at a locally-stored .XML or .RSS file or does it demand that the data come from an online source? I've got an .XML file stored locally on the DekoCast and I'd like to point to that as a data source

  • Re: Importing H.264--Audio Unsynched

Thanks for the info--I'm on a NCA 6.2.6, so I reinstalled nVidia 77.18 and rolled back Quicktime (it had been 7.1.5; it's now 7.0.4). The glitching I described in my initial post *is* different now, but it still doesn't come in right. The MPEG Streamclip path seems like a quick fix, but I was hoping to find something a little less...um.

  • Importing H.264--Audio Unsynched

Hi all! Hoping someone has seen this sort of problem before and has some tip on fixing it... We occasionally receive commercials from a production house as an H.264 Quicktime. When I try to import the .mov file into our Newscutter Adrenaline (not sure on the exact version; I'm writing this from home, but I wanna say 6.5.something), video comes in

  • Re: DekoCast - End of Crawl Triggers Action

Answering my own question, in case anyone in the future is looking for a similar thing... In the help file, there are directions for adding graphics to a crawl object--the idea being to be able to insert a station logo or other graphic element between lines in a crawl (i.e. CNN puts their logo between each story that appears on their ticker). Basically

  • DekoCast - End of Crawl Triggers Action

We had "official" training on our DekoCast about a year ago, but thanks to one thing after another we're just now getting around to setting it up for its intended purpose. One thing I'm trying to build is an action to allow our MCO's to run crawls--Amber Alerts, school closings, etc.--and I want it to be as ultra simple as possible

  • Error "newMediaDurationInFrames exceeds compLength"?

Greetings all! I'm in search of any info on an error we've started seeing in our editors (Newscutters, MM 4.5.8). Over the past couple of days, editors have occasionally been seeing the following error: CompUpdateKnownMediaDurationForEWC()--newMediaDurationInFrames exceeds compLength We've had a couple of suspects as to what might be causing
  • Re: Default Transition in Thunder

I knew as soon as I posted a question I'd figure it out on my own... In case anyone else searches for the answer, it's the "Edit Template" option in the Edit menu within Thunder.
