I find src clip name and master clip when I need to tweak a shot that is otherwise associated by source clip name to be the best combo for later merging. Tape name for me is too general in nature unless your talking about a sit down interview where the entire tape is one subjects shots. Otherwise the gamut of different scenes and exposures on any given

I've been able to do OMFs on HD projects by toggling the format to SD to make the OMF export.

Good to know. Did they never have a mac SN classic? or is it problematic?

Or get a Mac. I haven't had any issues with memory on the Mac SNDX 3.5.4. The system does have 10 gig of ram maybe that has something to do with it. I'm as shocked as anyone to suggest a Mac but my experience on my current system has been very good. This after years of decent performance on PCs except for the memory issue.

As far as compliance or QC Monkeys one of my favorite encounters was on a show I delivered SD on IMX 16x9 anamorphic. A show was flagged for VITC on line 50 or so. The network was making a letterbox dub of the 16x9 anamorphic master and in doing so they took the Wide Mode flag down to line 50ish. They didn't seem to know how to line blank the signal

What the hell do they mean by extreme care? Does that mean patch the HDSDI out of the HDCam deck to the HDSDI input of the HDCamSr deck with extreme care? Perhaps they are alluding to an all too common practice of dubbing from a JH3 Sony deck which is the cheaper play only model that doesn't have all the error correction capabilities of the more

You might try setting the deck to internal bars and tone and see if you get green lights all around. I've had issues with embedded audio coming into SN classic when no ref was going to the deck. It was wierd feeding another deck the audio was there but not in the avid. Disconnecting and reconnecting house black brought the audio back to the avid

As far as I know there is no way to maintian what's on tape. I guess I was mixing this in with another thread where the Nitris DX wasn't maintaining captioning but it turned out to be the record deck was not set to rerecord the anc. data. My understanding is the Nitris DX and adrenaline will maintain the CC anc. data for capture and reoutput

You need to check your deck settings to see if it's set to record Vanc CC. Check the HDCAM VANC Packet Select Menu for HDCam. You should set ANC1 to LINE1 (D) TO 09, ANC1 LINE2 (D) TO 572, ANC1 DID (H) TO 61 AND ANC1 SDID (H) TO 01. Al the other values are set to 0's . For HDCamSr check the HDCAM-SR META DATA LINE SELECT Meta Data 1(1080) :

I just export a jpeg and print from preview or photoshop, but I really miss this feature. Tell the software guys I'm going to hold my breath until I turn blue and if that doesn't work I'll complain that the shade of blue I turn won't key in Spectramatte. That ought to get them moving.
