Agreed... "Crap." We've done hundreds of shows on a Unity at 2:1 with no troubles. If you need the space and you can handle the quality difference (1:1 is better - if you really look for it), then 2:1 is a fine solution.

What valid uses are there for video mixdowns. Ages ago - when I hadn't learned how to nest - I used them occasionally, but not anymore... Then, I got thinking and I'm curious how/whatfor/when anyone actually uses them. I avoid mix-downs at almost any cost (I don't want to sacrifice time-code, handles, flexibility, batch capability, and so forth). And

If it's your first time consolidating a sequence - then "complicated" is definitely the right word (dangerous also comes to mind). Are your grouped clips (the ones that wont play in the split window) made up of clips of differing resolutions (you've captured at 3 different resolutions)? Mixed-resolution-multi-cam-groups didn't used to be supported. I haven't tried it lately - so maybe it is finally supported, but maybe this is part of the problem?

Set the mac to use Windows Compatible File Names... The two big problems this will avoid is 1) bin names that are too long 2) bin names without .avb on the end Both of these problems can be "fixed" manually, but it's easier to let the Mac MCA catch it all for you in advance. The Windows machine wont automatically recognize the bins as bins with .avb
