does anyone know if it is possible to create a copy protected video file? the same file that i-tunes is offering in its shop which you can not copy and will be deleted after 24 hours. that would be great for a testscreening of a feature film.

Does anybody know if that will work ? I need to upgrade the OS > to upgrade Safari > to upgrade I-Tunes > to use the I-Tunes Store.... But only 10.5.5. is official supported with MC 3.1.3.

In the past, I sometimes had trouble with relinking transcoded footoge to the original. Avid messed up some tape names and I couldn't modify them and relink, or Avid changed the timecode of the transcoded clips. But that was before 3.5 and mostly with imported quicktimes.

I think there is no solution for Mac, yet. Only metafuze for PC. There is somebody working on a solution for Mac, but it's not finished yet. Maybe you can contact him for an alpha release ?!? http://www.jamieparry.demon.co.uk http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29173

No. You can use Final Cut for that. You can convert the red files with redrushes, metafuze or several other apps, to edit with MC, but it will take some time...

I have a Samson CO1U USB Mic. In OSX, it appears in the audio section of the system preferences but you cannot select it with the import function in Avid. It doesn't appear as a disk or file or sth... With the Capture Tool or Punch In I can only select the ports of my Mojo SDI (RCA, AES/EBU, S/PDIF, SDI) I use Apple's Soundtrack to record sth

In MPEG Streamclip open a clip and try "File" > "Exports To Other Formats" > Select "Flash Video (FLV)" in the "Format" Tab > Use "Options" to customize your setting I think, it has nothing to do with Perian. Perian is a quicktime codec that helps you to use flv files with quicktime.

Episode Pro with Flash 8 Option is very good. And MPEG Streamclip (it's free) can encode with On2 VP6, also.

It's a feature of VLC that you see the name, it should also appear with other files. They won't appear on the website. You can install the Perian Codec for Quicktime which includes the flash codec (and many others) to watch your flash movies with quicktime, it's free: http://perian.org I think you will need a flash player that will play
