  • Re: liquid installation

Good practice is to have your captured video & render files on a drive other than the OS. Most users will have the program on the C drive and use another (big) drive or raid for the video/render.

This thread has been very useful to me, by following the procedures that are now pinned I have got AL7.2 running OK on my PC - thanks guys, I do appreciate this. As a result I have created a project, captured all the data, created simple transitions and titles and ended up with a very satisfactory set of DVD's, all from my Vista 64 boot. I have had

bigrock: During the installation there was a launch of IE for both Movie looks, and TDK if I remember correctly and both lauched IE Ok and did not lock up the installation at all. I tried that both with Norton Firewall, and Windows Vista Firewall enabled and saw no issue. I personally see no reason whatsoever to shutdown Internet connection during the

Doesn't striping cause unnecessry wear on the heads? The break in tc is usually caused by removing a tape & replacing it if the camera's OK Wouldn't it be better to record some blank seconds before removing the tape, then rewinding after reinserting the tape to just after the last shoot? That way you're still in the tc section.

I have just had another look at your procedure and there are a few things there that I didn't do when following the V64 procedure. One big difference is the internet connection. It was after MovieLooks had gone onto the web for "registration" that the PC locked up. I'll have a go using your procedure when I've finished earning my crust.

Yes, I read that one as well, but months ago I ran a test on another PC where I loaded V32. That PC wasn't cutting edge, in fact it was back of the knife stuff. AL7.1 ran with no problems that I came across on that installation. This is why I was encouraged to try V64 on the current editing PC. The old one is still tucked away but it's not used for

Same here, I ran the installation from a hard drive, MovieLooks I tried to install from the bundle CD. It seemed to work OK except the PC locked after the install. Didn't bother with any more installing, just tried to open the BMW project. Maybe I'll clean up the the projects and try again after work, AL should run OK without the bundle but if it doesn

Sorry for the link being copied out in full on my earlier reply. I can see the button for creating a link and at one time I read (somewhere) about how to insert it. I will read up again if I get time today, but I don't usually feel competent to make many replies to other peoples problems - lots of capable users here without my pennies worth! But like
