• Re: removing hiss

I use Sony (now Magix) Spectralayers for doing things like this. It's possble to get a surprisingly clean dialogue out of white noise. However, I am not going to recommend Spectralayers as it has a rather high learning curve. Izotope RX 6 is easier to use (and if I had to replace Spectralayers today, I'd go with Izotope). Note that even in their

  • Re: HELP! How do I up-res footage in sequence?

DNxHD 175 is appropriate for 1080/24p, 8-bit media. 175X is for 10-bit. if your original media is 1080/24p then you won't get any real improvement by choosing a higher bitrate. Also, there are many Canon cameras that are Mark II. Which one are you using? In your first post you mention that this is for a festival; is this going to be screen on a
I suspect internal support was created to meet the needs of the MC|First market and not those of us running Media Composer.
And I suspect that you are correct. If you look at my posts before MC First was released, I was already saying XAVC-S support was pretty much a requirement. That it took to the second

I looked into the manual, and it doesn't mention XDCAM for as-02 export. You could try and create a new shim file for XDCAM from an existing one and see if that works.

Nice test. The only issue I have with Resolve is that performance is largely based on the graphics card(s). If you were running something like a GeForce GTX 760 the performance would be notably worse. Of course, if you had a couple of GTX 1080's, the performance would be notably better. It's really amazing though; all of these products that

"Hey Mom, Douglas is picking on me!!!" LOL! For me it's a question of saving money. I don't want to spend for something I can get for free. Of course, I wouldn't suggest waiting forever, and as the GH5 problems may be related to this as well one would hope the generic plug-in will be a high priority fix. I think a bigger issue
The Drastic plugin has been available for about a 1 year. There is a big difference between the Nablet plug-in and Avid's. Nablet's plug-in will run as far back

Drastic.TV has a XAVC-S plug-in available now as well. I believe the cost is $89. It's currently on sale through Ee Scream Factory for $49. You need a link to it (I tried to find it directly on their site and couldn't). The link is: https://www.macvideopromo.com/products/drastic-mediareactor-ama-plug-in-for-mac-win?mc_cid=70d7dd572c&mc_eid

Let's not guess. Right-click on one of the clips in the bin and choose Get Info. Look at the entry for Video. That will give you the format of the actual media. If it says DNxHD 36, then you either imported or transcoded.

Drastic.TV has updated MediaReactor to handle XAVC-S as well. The single plug-in (not the entire MediaReactor package) is currently on sale through Eye Scream Factory for $49, and it runs on MC 6.5 and later.
