ah.. but hope does die... ...the latest project I am working on is being cut on CANOPUS (which I really dislike). It's not like I had a choice though... :(

The issue is really quite simple... AVID just couldn't care less about PAL and Europe. Is it coming in Q2 this year? I don't know and don't care myself anymore, which is why I have invested in an FCP system and taken FCP (for avid users) courses... Better to know both platforms as more and more facilites houses are switching over...

does anyone actually know when the next release will be... released? Or is it going to be "soon" again...? Anyone else heard the phrase "flogging a dead horse" ?

Swil: MichaelP: The very next "non point" release will have support for the format with a 720p/25 project type as expected. Thanks Michael, we're all looking forward to it. Thankyou Swil for thanking michael.

AndrewAction: BobbyMurcerFan: I think there is an underlying point which is being missed. And I think you are missing some important underlying points on the otherside of the fence. 1: How much time and effort do you think goes into reverse engineering and coming up with a viable editing solution to a poorly conceived format (from an editing standpoint

BLKDOG: You know, all of this amazes me. For pages on end all you people have done is demand that Avid give you some announcement about when or if the codec will be available. Michael and Marianna both finally come out and tell you that it will be in the next release and you STILL moan and complain. How about either just saying thank you for the effort

Randall L Rike: I'd believe what Avid is saying, not JVC. Which is what exactly? I have only ever heard conjecture on these forums... there are still no "official" announcments that I can see anywhere on this site or in trade publications. What have AVID specifically told you?

The latest I heard was from the JVC reps at the London Video Forum... they tell me that AVID are NOT going to support 720/25p - as it is only really a "european thing" and JVC are going to start implementing 1080 instead across their entire "prosumer" range... Personally I think for AVID to implement support for this now is too little too late...

Yes I do... an ADS Pyro Card.

I have very similar problems with my DSR-11... and can control the deck - but have "No Input Signal" ! The usual fix for me is combination of restarting either my deck or avid or both... Doesn't happen in other NLE software that I have and started happening when I upgraded to 5.7 I think this should be reported as a bug...?
