acocq: Not sure if this is relevant to your issue, but from my own experience and the helpful hints received here, I believe that GPU-based effects are the problem when it comes to NVidia 8000 cards. Apparently, Liquid has a problem with DirectX10 cards not rendering correctly. For my own project I had to take out all GPU-based effects and replace them

It could be a driver issue but its hard to tell as we have no specs to work with................

When you open an old project in 7.2 it will ask you if you want to make a back up as it needs to convert it to the newer engine that 7.2 uses. Did it ask you to do that? Also check you audio scrubbing see if switching it from what it is now to the other option helps. There is a toggle button next to the audio meter.....

If there are no render files do you have a render folder? Maybe when you restored the project the render folder was not restored along with the project and the render files need to be rebuilt?

bigrock: smithe1: bigrock that cooler looks very nice. I am overclocking both a core 2 duo 1.8 to 2.44 and a 2.4 to 3gig and am using a blue orb here . It has brought down overall temps 15 degrees from 45 at idle to 30......Edd I am sure the Blue Orb does a nice job. One of the reasons I like the Artic Freezer 7+ is that it is one of the few coolers

George you say you are using a stock cooler I reciently tried an ORB blue and was amazed at how it dropped my temps approx. 15 degrees. They are more expensive about ($50.00 US) but fit nice and tight to the cpu (it uses a block which fits under the MB and the fan screws to the block) also they use a copper heatsink and are over sized with very low
