  • Re: Canon 24F HDV from XH-A1

I can't seem to find how to do this. Can someone post a post a screenshot or a little more detailed explanation of how to do this? How do you open the advanced timeline dialog? Thanks. This should certainly be a sticky.

In the NVidia control panel, enable overlay has to be set to OFF, or I get no video when playing through a timeline. I don't know if this makes a difference, or if this is how everyone with NVidia cards are set up. I should mention that I'm using AXP 5.2 still because I've been working on a huge project for over two years. I read in a forum topic that

  • Quadro FX1500 and composer window

Built a new editing system and everything is rockin except for one thing. When playing footage or an edit in the composer window everything is peachy...I went to the NVidia control panel and got it looking pretty darn close to how it should look. However, when I stop playing the still is REALLY dark. I've been searching and reading and it seems most

  • Re: QT Reference and encoding help

Tried capturing and tested a short clip. When I had the problems I also knew I would have to import a few stills, which work great in an HDV project. Imported the stills and did a zoom effect. Field/interlacing issues galore. I've imported with every option possible, and exported and encoded with every option possible. No luck. I then imported a quicktime

  • QT Reference and encoding help

I really need some help. When I edit HDV, I transcode the final sequence to dnxhd, export qt ref, encode in tmpgenc. Beautiful, perfect dvd's. I now have 12 hours of DV material I need to encode to dvd. Capture DV25, render effects (hardly any), export qt ref, encode in tmpgenc. It certainly looks like an interlace issue to me. Just scan lines all over

  • Re: quick time 7 and quick time reference files

Trevor, Avid with qt 7.1.3 was fine for me exporting qt references until one day, all white. No idea what happened or how to fix it. After searching the forums and pulling hair out for days I took a few deep breaths and traced the possible culprits one by one. Hopefully this will do it for you....do this in this exact order...... 1 - Uninstall Quicktime

  • Re: Cineframe 24 or 30?????

hudson, If your delivery format is DVD, shoot HDV. The resulting DVD will look amazing. Shoot with cineframe off, shutter speed 1/60, get a good white balance, and just manually adjust the iris during shooting if you need to. You can always downconvert to DV when you capture. Why not shoot in HD as your source?

  • Re: HDV capture problems

Try turning off confidence view in the video settings tab. You'll have to look at the lcd screen on the camera instead of Avid's composer window. And, there is a one second delay in capturing HDV, usually, so turn the volume down in Avid. Just make sure you capture with 2-3 second handles on each end. I had to do the same thing.

  • Divx HD export from HDV or DNxHD sequence

Hey everyone, I've been able to export Divx files from HDV and DNxHD sequences, but the quality is just not up to snuff. I've read that some users are exporting Divx HD and getting great results. Anyone care to share the workflow and settings they're using? I'm just looking for another way to distribute stuff to friends, and Divx HD is much easier on
