I agree that you can get better tracks, especially with planar tracking, etc., outside of Avid, but in the rough cut phase it's still nice to stay inside. It's really not too hard- -Apply your Spectramatte to V2 and tweak to your heart's content. Then 'bypass' it (button at the top) so that you're only seeing V2. -Add 3DWarp

I don't want to make any assumptions about the changes that are brewing (or already brewed)... I switch between my MacPro and laptop fairly often and need to move my license with me. With the new subscription model and with perpetual license/annual contract, will we still be able to activate and deactivate via the internet as we do now?

Then my request for a "+" indicator stands :) (though I will now keep this box checked) Thanks
-
But still, a little indicator would be helpful. I see that when I'm editing on my laptop and need to keep my tracks small, the 'show effect contents' doesn't work. So a little "+" or something next to the top effect would be good.

Ha! You learn something new every day... 20 years of cutting on Avid and I never bothered to turn on that setting. Thanks Steve!

Right now, all we see in the timeline is the topmost effect icon. My assistant occasionally misses that I have nested effects on clips. Could there be a symbol on a clip to indicate that there are other effects inside of the one on top? Thanks
-
I still think this is a much needed feature. I constantly have mulitiple effects on clips and need to copy all of them, in the same order, onto other clips. Please, Avid, this should be a simple one. (thanks for doing it with audio keyframes)

I've been happy with my two setups for playing 5.1. 1- Blackmagic Intensity Pro card -> Denon DN A7100 preamp -> powered speakers 2- Aja IO Express -> Sony AV receiver -> passive speakers (also used AJA's T-Tap and that worked fine too) but of course this is not separating the video- that goes through the amp as well via HDMI
-
I can vouch for the Denon preamp. I use it with my Blackmagic Intensity card ($200) and an AJA T-Tap ($300). Glad to not need the Avid hardware- I can spend it on better speakers!

Does anyone have luck with Audiosuite plugins getting through to ProTools- tried various settings in the AAF dialogue and ProTools editor not seeing the effects so that he could use our settings as a starting point. MediaComposer 6.5.4.2 and Pro Tools 10
