Update on my findings for those in a bind. Creating a mixdown to the desired output (in my case Apple ProRes) will allow me to export Same as Source. Don't forget to duplicate your time line and make the mixdown there. Other than this issue, OSX 10.11.3 and MC 8.5 have been running smoothly.

I have been experiencing the same issue. Avid ProRes media mixed with XDCAM media. If I try a custom Apple ProRes 422 with 48K audio, I get the same results. Strange thing is I can export Same as Source and they come out as ProRes 422 movies. However... the movies have to be converted to open with Quicktime. My guess is that there is a conflict with

Thanks for not only making a cool new version of Avid Media Composer, but qualifing it on the latest version of 10.11. This will save me a lot of time and keep me from constantly stating up on different drives.

compatible with previous versions? I searched for the answer but could not find one. I have a 10.6.4 drive ready to install MC 5 on. I have a MC 3.1.1, 10.5 drive that I still work on and am waiting for one last project to master before I can migrate over to the new drive. Should I wait, or will I still be able to work on the MC 3.1 drive after updating

Thank you Todd. I had heard there were issues with the UL5D through another user that I work with when they went to MC 4.5 on 10.6. I am anxious to see how this works since it has been so long between upgrades and so much has changed in the upgrade process. Unlike the old days, there is a lot of good documentation on this site and Avid.com in general

I have been running 3.1.3 for some time, anyway... I did a clean install of 10.6 on another drive in my Mac. Copied my applications to the drive and have not updated past 10.6.3. I should be ready to install MC 5 when it comes in this week, correct? I just wanted to make sure because I am in the middle of a season run of shows and it would be great
