  • Re: Cool Wedding effects

The Boris CC package which comes with MC includes the effects you describe. Take a look around. The FX are all customizable so you should be able to tweak them to achieve the subtlety you're after. jd

  • Disconnecting Mojo DX

I couldn't find a reference to this in the manual so I thought I'd throw the question out: Is it safe to disconnect the PCIe cable for the Mojo DX when both the Mojo and computer are still on? Or should one or both of the devices be off (as with Firewire) to avoid damage to the hardware? Thanks for any insight. jd

  • Re: avid will not recognize mojo

I hope this is not your case but this happened to me with two different Mojos, and in both cases, the Mojos' firewire ports fried when I accidently pulled the FW cable with the power on. When the device is connected and the system is on, does the Mojo's "Host" light turn on? If not, this may be your problem. The only solution would

  • Re: Avid Won't open, I need help badly

Are you dongle or software-activation licensed? if you activated through software, the upgrade to Leopard may have deleted your activation. You should contact Avid to re-activate. You should ALWAYS deactivate all your activated software before changing your OS just in case. I've been running a dongled MC on Snow Leopard with no problems. jd

  • Re: Snow Leopard - XDCAM

Sony's SxS driver for ExpressCard slots causes a Kernel Panic in 10.6, but the media can still be loaded via USB or in Bootcamp. Otherwise, all other XDCAM operations are OK. I've been editing new XDCAM HD footage all week with MC 3.5.4 in SL and haven't had any problems, yet. jd

  • Re: Adding Graphics to a rolling title?

Mars, I've just tried this in MC 3.1.3 and I get a white box around my image in the Title Tool. In Photoshop, I tried selecting "all" and also tried selecting the logo layer only. Which version of MC are you using? Thanks! jd

  • Re: You have GOT to be joking!

Excellent response. I find the line "this is an independent project hence unpaid" particularly insulting considering all the independent producers whose shorts and features I've worked on who worked their butts off to make sure everyone got paid at least a symbolic amount. jd

  • Re: Avid SD Aspect Ratio

16:9 (or 1.78:1) is your aspect ratio for anamorphic SD, on Avid or anywhere else . After Effects has a preset for this format. jd

  • Re: Remove Audio Fades globally?

Open the Effects Editor, lasso the transitions right to left, then hit delete to remove the fades. In the Audio Mixer you can set the audio levels globally to 0 from the fast menu. Cheers! jd
