did you select the clip, and try the relink command? (in the menu or right click... not at a system at the moment)

Not sure I understand it correctly but why not digitize them in Avid and do the job with your Avid tools to search and audition them? Itunes is not a video editor (tool) so no surprise there it loses those metadata fields.

I am not sure sure I understand what you are trying to accomplish. Original mxf are the mediafiles! If you have lost the connection between the clips in your bin/timeline and the media they appear as "offline" (red on the timeline if the clipcolor is set so). A relink (preferably after a unlink) should solve the problem. What was ingested

well... don't know exactly what is happening but it looks like a fade out and a fade in on a cut withour black (filler) in between kind of tries to create a crossfade using handles on the left and right of the cut, and those are extra frames, but frames already on the timeline. Why don't you use a dip to color on the cut and see what happens
-
just wondering... what happens if you cut out one frame between elements and put a fade out at the tail and a fade in at the start of the next element?
-
are you using super bin? Did you check under the other windows?

Hi, a mixdown is NOT a precompute. A mixdown is an new media file generated from the video and the effects etc you have on the timeline. Mixdowns have their own masterclip in a bin in your project. With that masterclip you can find your media files.

[quote user="avidseahawk"] I own an Avid Aderlinane HD, Media Composer it has recently created a technical and very annyoing problem. The problem is as follows, whenever I work on a new or existing project and then I start to capture new footage or import it from a DVD or a CD, and later as I shut the project and software down or minimize
