benefit of Media composer as a Pro-tools satellite?

one of the new features of MC 4.0 is " Macintosh Media Composer as Pro Tools Video Satellite". How would someone use this?

Please fix slow waveform redraw !!!!!!!!

I don't understand why Avid (the Same company that makes Pro-tools) can't embed the wave forms into clips so that If I want to look at audio information, I don't have to wait forever for the waveform redraw. Wow it's frustrating.... I know that I can turn it off, but I want to see what's there. In Pro tools you don't have to

Still running into the problem: mark in & out, on a group clip. play in to out multiple times, cycle to other clips in the group, crash, pull hair out. repeat. Can anyone else duplicate this? I can duplicate it on another machine. Is there a 3.13 update happening for those of us not jumping to 3.5 yet?

exception: ASpringBuffer TIMEOUT

Getting an "exception: ASpringBuffer TIMEOUT" error. I've done a search, but what I've found doesn't seem relevant. I was just playing a clip....?

Tried adjusting playlength.. no go. Also I've gotten a couple of "exception: ASpringBuffer TIMEOUT" errors, maybe these are related or could help point to an answer?

I've tried adjusting playlengths and still have not fixed the issue. I've also gotten a couple of "exception: ASpringBuffer TIMEOUT" errors. Could these be related? maybe pointing toward something else?
