QTs are far from 'universal', unfortunately. Quicktime itself is some sort of wrapper for holding various codecs. Apple itself is one of the largest culprits when it comes to incompatible codecs. Nearly everything that comes out of FCP needs to have a codec installed, and some of them are damn near impossible to find for the PC. At least Avid

Found it. It is in the BCC Bump Map effect. Don't know why it's there, and not in some of the other effects, but if you examine all the parameters, there is a 'repeat' option in the scale parameter and you can get it to do a nicely tiled effect. Thanks! Chris

I desperately need to do the same thing tomorrow morning, so did you ever have a chance to figure out which BCC plugin does this? Thank you in advance! Chris

You have to manually log each clip, being very careful to look for camera breaks. As you do that, start each newly logged clip on a zero or a five frame count. It's a pain, but it works. Postmark, I'm not taking the statements less than seriously when I say stick with the application you like best. I too am sometimes forced to use FCP, and I really don't like it, so I feel your pain. I do understand having to use an application that you don't like. But the point is, why do we want all applications to look and act exactly

I haven't even found a plugin for AE that does this. Does anybody know the name of it? TIA. Chris

The Boris one would be great, 'cause I own BCC. Can anybody identify it? Chris

So I've got a client who wants the following effect, and I'm not sure how to accomplish it. Anybody have any thoughts? The screen splits into quarters (ie, 4 mini versions of itself), then eighths, then sixteenths, etc, etc, etc, until the screen in filled with 'millions' of little versions of itself. I've seen this effect a bunch

Pretty much the stanard on OS X is Compressor, which is part of the FCS package. However, if you install Windows in a virtualized environment, you can continue to use your PC software on the Mac as well. Chris
