  • Re: Media Composer First Crashed on startup

Here's a lead: I have Waves v9 plugins installed. Moving WaveShell out of the AAX directory fixes the crash for me . But this will obviously be a problem for the ProTools users in the thread :-( As an alternative, and also another observation which might be of interest to the devs: When I delete the file ~/Library/Preferences/Avid/Pro Tools/InstalledAAXPlugIns

Hm, just want to note that I do not own PT or PT:F, and that it was never installed on this machine. The EUCON Workstation package for the iPad app doesn't count, right? Right now I am completely uninstalling MC, wiping all Avid preferences and all plugins to reinstall 2018.4 from scratch. It should at least start up in the 100% stock configuration

[quote user="fatjon"]Still confused as to why the contents of my AMA folder are so different to someone elses with exactly the same install

Hi RalphC, I am getting this crash on fresh installs with just the stock AMA directory in my "AVX2_Plug-Ins". Here's my test results: When i clear the directory completely, it just silently quits on "Initializing plugin: AMPIPluginDSM.avx", not even showing the crash reporter. This should also not happen, right? With all five

  • MC 2018.4 unusable - crashes on startup: AMPIPluginDSM.avx

Hello everyone, this problem already occured sometimes in 2018.3 (in First and Standard) but has become a real showstopper in 2018.4: Every time I start the application, it immediately crashes on "Initializing plugin: AMPIPluginDSM.avx". There are no plugins in my AVX2_Plug-Ins directory, apart from the stock AMA ones and NewBlue Prime. I

  • Re: MC|F 2018.4 crashes unless AMPIPluginDSM.avx removed from package

I'm having the same issue. When it occured in MC:F 2018.3, i would just try and launch it again. It would start up correctly after two or three attempts. But it seems to have gotten worse in 2018.4 (i am now using the regular MC though - but the loader codebase should be identical i think). It also appears to occur less when there are few plugins
