  • Noise reduction

Has anyone found a good plug-in providing video noise reduction? We've got Boris CC2 and Sapphire 2 installed on all our systems, but neither offer a decent NR tool (at least I can't generally get any useable results from them!). I've recently done some work on Final Cut and was really impressed by the CHV Repair Collection (including a

Yep, thanks for posting this John. I'd found this bug but hadn't had time yet to work out if it was a software problem or something else. This'll save a lot of time...

  • Re: To Avid pros & program designers

Another method is while in CC mode, select 'Entire Sequence' from the drop-down above one of the three preview monitors (I prefer the one on the right) . Once you're in the habit of activating that window with a click before hitting Play, it's as easy as anything else to watch a scene or, as Terry says, the whole show.

Tell me about it. Some days just the word 'Marquee' scares me...

  • Re: Color Correction tip needed

Hi Job As usual there are several ways to do this, and you've probably got the best results by using the method you've described (especially if you use a third party plug-in chroma keyer). But I guess the quick way you are asking about would be: - Go into the Secondary tab in the CC tool (before you've made the image B+W) - Pick the red colour you want

  • Re: can't save title in 10 bit.....error message vague

I've seen this now and again over the last few months, mostly working at DNX185X. If you go back into the title (to edit in T Tool) it's saved it, but the timeline view of Source/Rec Mode hasn't "remembered" any change you've made. No idea what's causing it, but if you want to stay in 10-bit, I've found a 'Re-create Title Media' usually seems to fix

  • Re: pan and scan in 1.7..bug?

FYI Peter: We're running 3 suites all with 1.7. W e haven't seen the Pan&Scan or match frame problems you've had. But the timeline display break-up you mention occurs on all our systems. It normally corrects if you refresh the timeline view (zoom in and out or similar). I first noticed this on 1.6.x versions a few months ago. So I think it's not

  • Re: Merging colour corrections

Yeah, as I thought. I can see why the system was built this way (especially as you say with relinking) but I was hoping there's be a way that it could recognise a single frame matching tape/TC - irrespective of handles either side - and apply grades accordingly. One for the wishlist? Thanks for your thoughts FD.

  • Merging colour corrections

Is the 'Merge Correction' function as limited as I think it is? Here's the scenario: I have 2 x separately conformed progs. I've graded Prog 1 in SN colour correction tool. Prog 2 has a 'recap' seq at the start, using a lot of material which appeared in Prog 1. I want those CCs to automatically transfer over. Using 'Merge Correction' as described in

  • Re: two line crawl in the title tool for a HD (1080/50i) project

Try having a separate text object for each pair of lines: so each object contains eg 'Producer JOHN SMITH' and then Show Alignment Grid within Title Tool to space the boxes horizontally. I haven't created a crawler in HD, but this method always works better than having two long lines in SD anyway. Worth a try?
