My guess is that it means that since Windows 7 is not a certified operating system for Avid, the machine is having an issue installing the certified graphics driver into Windows 7. Or it could be a permissions issue . . . Or a corrupt download . . . Just a few thoughts . . .

You don't need to import them - that is the beauty of Avid's media management. As long as they remain in the required root level directory of the portable drive, any Avid should see them. You just need to have the project file with you as well when you edit on the laptop, not just the media. We do this all the time without any issues.

We just had an issue where our second MC machine crashed and Avid was unable to open. I had converted that machine to software activation when we upgraded to 3.5. So now we were unable to deactivate that machine to reactivate the replacement. Marianna took great care of me and we got the dongle working again that evening, and I realized that if Avid

Thanks for the clarification. Quick question: Since squeeze is a stand-alone program, what does Avid test for in the new versions? I'm asking because the Squeeze announcement mentioned much quicker compression times, so I am wondering if going to 6 would affect anything with the current systems. We never use the "send to squeeze" option

If you want ruggedness, the best I can recommend Sennheiser's (description from B&H's web page). They have stainless steel strands in the wiring for durability. We currently have 3 analog mojo's that have done very well for us over the years (we work primarily in Beta SP with some DVCam and DVCpro - all HD is file-based). We have purchased the upgrades to MC 4, but I am hesitant to install it because it does not support the analog mojo's and we are planning to purchase Nitrix DX boxes in Q2 of next

You should be getting a reference light. When you loop the black signal thru the PVW2800 to the mojo, make sure that the termination switch (75 ohm/Hi-Z or Off) is NOT on 75 ohms. If you are terminating the signal at the deck, the mojo is receiving a black signal with low sync, which it may not recognize.
