• Re: ISIS500 upgrade failure.

I can finally put this issue to rest! Basically, when the riser cards in our chassis were replaced, the technician failed to complete the install process. The last step (as cazzimir pointed out) involves booting from a USB stick in combination with Avid supplied files. This enables you to change the Part number to the correct version, in order for RaidConfig
I had this case once when replacing the riser card of a ISIS 5000
Come to think of it, I beleive we had a risers replace in these chassis too back in 2013 when they were oringinally purchased for The Great Gatesby. It was part of some product recall or possible issue when upgrading there was risk of losing
Open a support case explaining you problem: "ISIS5000, during an upgrade to 4.7 Raid Set configuration status is error/warning. In the event log, there is an error message saying "Avid ISIS Raid configuration tool could not be found". Product server type could not be determined from part number 7030-30044

Thank you for your reply. This indeed sounds like the exact problem that i'm having. Where/how do I correct this? I've reinstalled ISIS 4.0.3 (4.2 client) and everything works as I expect. The problem is definately to do with this product type. The old hdraid.exe reports the same error, but assumes it's US_TYPE_ISIS5000 and continues to

I've tried rebuilding the server with a supplied ISIS5000 image (Windows Storage Server) without any luck. I still have the same error in that the raid set fails to iniatlize by the installer: System event log viewer shows: Warning after 5 attempts the product type is still UNKNOWN. Is there anymore information on the Raid controller interms of

  • Re: Avid Partition Management - Storage

I don't beleive there is a rule to free space on any one single partition. Having said that I try to leave at least a few GB free so the database has space to grow should it need too (eg. accidentally render effects/titles to said patition). Total ISIS useage should not exceed 90%.

I've managed over over a km here on the fox lot using singlemode optics. As Dom mentioned, follow normal fibre protocols and you should be fine.

Right no Dual10GB support on servers! Got it. For some reason dual 10GB and v4.7 have stuck with me. Maybe it was the client side that supports dual 10GB in 4.7 and this is where i'm getting confused.
HI Bob, The system is running Storage server 2008 R2. I guess the restore image from the ISIS 5500 was used on these units but I can't tell. He hasn't provided any method/credentials yet to upload him the original image which came with the 5000.
I'll try and fill in some of the missing
