[quote user="gumbaedit"] Mixing in 5.1? How many editors do you know that 1) have the knowledge of audio it requires to do a 5.1 surround mix properly and 2) how many editors do you know have the proper setup in their editing bay to do a surround mix properly. Then, show me a client who will entrust the audio mix of their tv or feature film

Read Audio Timecode should do it... I'm not aware of it being removed but it is many years since I touched it. What is the disk recorder you are using that generates the Quicktimes? It might be able to create them in a format that is more avid friendly (IMX50 for example) - Uncompressed QT's might take a while to import...

I would suspect VITC is different from LTC. Switch TCR to LTC not AUTO - should be good to go.

KEEP SQUEAKING... eventually someone will hear It's not just Features that need this BTW

I think you have to check in the sequences manually regardless (with check into interplay). If set to auto check in then it only checks in master clips / subclips / whatever when closing. But I'm not an Interplay administrator and I don't play one on TV

Could be the SR deck is set to arm 7 & 11 when it gets the command to arm 7. SR manual should tell you how to check that.

I think you are going to have to get clever with ALE's and decomposing - or easier - use a macro (QuickKeys) to do it in the timeline.

My experience on a short project with about 20 disks and working at a finishing resolution: It was best for us to consolidate full length to Avid drives. NOT transcoding (so it's pretty much as quick as a folder copy) but they do get to be blessed avid media files. Didn't worry about any tapeID voodoo, didn't have to relink. Took up lots

Not sure what version you are on or if you are on Interplay / ISIS - but v3.5.9 claims to fix a bunch of bugs that I have experienced in an IP/ISIS environment on 3.5.x
