Windows XP sp2 and the SATA HDD is in a fantec quick release case. It´s a 1 TB HD103UJ Samsung.

When I work with my ext. HDD DVCPROHD and talk to the client, after 5min the HDD shuts of or turns into sleeping mode and all Media Files are missing. How do I avoid that, where do I change the sleeping time mode for ext. HDDs?

Is 1280x1024 the biggest size I can scale the Composer Window to (from side to side of the primary screen)? I have 2 screens: 1 is 1600x1200 the other is 1280x1024. I want the Composer window as big as possible on the first screen, but it can only fill 1280x1024. I would use 1280x1024 on both screens, but the 20" screen is sharper on 1600x1200

I do not have one yet. Before I buy the D7 camera I would like to know if the H.264 can be dealt with by Avid and in what quality and time. If I need to convert a clip 20x the original time, something isn´t really well developed. Maybe Avid needs to include H.264.

Any new method? Any experience with 25fps?

so quicktime H.264 cant be edited natively? Is it better qualitywise to import within Avid or sorensen?

I plan for an online workflow. The D7 shoots 25p, which I will use.
