  • Re: Barn doors in shot

Hi Dave, Thanks for the warning. I've typed in "Avid MC mask" in YouTube and come across a load of tutorials. May I ask, can you recommend an appropriate one? D.

Hi Carl, Maybe I could've been clearer here. I was using this as an analogy in terms of masking - that the analogy is a green bg and my present example a white bg may or may not have significance. All I'm getting at here is that if I film on a white bg, in a cramped space where to obtain a full length shot would require having the lighting stands

Thank you, all. In a way, I'm kinda glad this has happened as it's a challenge to solve - an extra string to the bow. I don't have AE, so looking for solutions just in MC. To expand on this, my studio set-up is rather cramped, so I have to tighten the frame from a head & shoulders-only shot. I have the NewBlue FX green-screen plug-in

  • Barn doors in shot

Hi, I'm filming some pieces-to-camera against a white background, and inadvertently in the last piece the very slightest ege of the light barn door is in shot. Is there some method of removing this in post - say, maybe a mask of some description, or some other method? I have never one anything like this before, so a process spelled out would be

  • Recovering back-ups from Sequences

Hi, I have accidentally deleted the wrong MXF files & sequences, and when reloading what I believe is the correct sequence found that "Media Offline" showed up. When plugging in my back-up drive Avid instantly found the correct files. So, all good. However, when r-clicking "reveal file" on the sequence a prompt comes up that

Hi Dave, Thanks for coming back, looks like a lot of work-around. I tried the Pitch II plug-in and moved down one step on the musical scale. It's not absolutely perfect, but seems to me an acceptable solution. D.

  • Nice-sounding voices

Hi, I'm not talking about EQ-ing, but something else I don't know the terminology to describe. Is there audio plug-in in MC that can change the texture of a voice? If a subject has, say, a grating voice, is there a way to soften it? Thank you, DC

  • Re: Project "Reveal File"

Thank you, both. So how do you manage/direct transcoding-to-MXF within specified folder? And how if you share stuff from other projects do you collate correctly? And how to ensure, starting from a fresh perspective, that everything in the present project is correctly located? D.
