I'm working on a big project. A lot of it was shot in weird codecs. To keep AVID stable, I'm going to transcode stuff that I need to transcode. Everything was shot in log. Should I transcode to DNxHR HQX or DNxHR HQ? Just want to make sure I don't get any banding or compression issues later when I color correct or add luts. I usually do

I downloaded the red ama plug in. Now I want to link to red clips. Red seems to put a single file in each folder. There are hundreds of folders. Do I have to step into each folder to link to the file or is there a way to link the whole bunch all at once? Thanks! The main folder is .RDM Then there are a bunch of .RDF folders Inside of those folders are

Yikes, no one bought a mac studio that works great with Avid?

By the way, I do a ton of broadcast work. A lot of it is 1080p still, but I often have to edit with 4K and sometimes 8K footage (occasionally red raw footage, but mostly a lot of Arri cams). Often, I have to start and finish the project, including the audio mix and always the color correction. Out of house Protools session are pretty rare with my tight

I currently use an iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019 computer with a 3.6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 128 GB of Memory and a Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB for graphics. I've used it a lot to edit with Avid and I am thinking of upgrading it to a Mac Studio. What's the ideal configuration and will I notice better performance? I assume yes. Thanks!

I did a huge project on the latest version of Media Composer and had no issues. I started a new one today and keep getting this error while trying to link: Assertion failed: volSupported File: /Users?releng/Builds/workspace/MC/Release_Installer-Git/ Mac_Build/coresw/ame/src/AMA/AMA_Manager.cpp, Line: 1568 What the heck am I supposed to do with that

There are thousands of audio clips in my timleine. Shift clicking the ending of everyone sounds terribly time consuming.

I have a giant timeline full of audio clips. I want to add a 1 frame audio fade in AT THE START of each audio clip and a 3 frame audio fade out ENDING ON CLIP. The quick transition tool wont let me do this with in and out marks. It wants everything to be the same (EITHER STARTING ON CLIP OR ENDING ON CLIP). This stinks! Any way to do what I want to

Great info. Two things: 1. Because I have so many cameras, I'd love to not have to move everything into 1 bin for organizational purposes. Can I just move all of the audio files into the camera 1 bin, then do the autosync? Then go to the next bin (Camera 2), and drag the audio files into that bin, then do autosync again? 2. Everything is shot in
