The issue is that when playing video, tearing occurs and it does not go away even if you choose vertical sync for the graphic card or flip on vertical sync. The tearing occurs for all types of resolutions and framerates. Some times the tearing goes away when choosing flip on vertical sync, but in return the playback is rendered useless by stuttering

Can the cure be expected in MC 4.X? It was brought up on the bugs list, but has it been a priority for the coming release?

Is the video tearing gone in MC 4.0? There's a thread I started about it and it was said to have been brought up on the "bugs list". New features sounds great, but I'm really only interested in one thing and that is that the video tearing is gone. It's a pain to edit something when you can't see exactly how it plays.
Full RED and Canon 5D support in MC 4?
Isn't Canon 5D just 264 codec quicktime? And RED support won't happen until RED and Avid comes together and create support of proxyfiles through AMA. And when speaking to them about it both says the other is the one who should make the first move. From what I know

Anybody has any news or knows anything? Ama seems like something no one talks about?

Wouldn't it be possible to link with AMA to the proxy files? For offline work and test-edit on location, that is the way to go. If AMA can link to the HD proxies, then we can edit offline with timecode and metadata, right? All we need is that someone creates that possibility. As for other formats, why wouldn't it be possible to edit a DV PAL
