BTW, This thread is the most concise so I'm adding useful comments from other threads (and links to them) for the sake of containing them all in one thread. This is for the sake of the engineers so they only need to go to one thread that stays on topic. Here goes: First thread: 'Mute/Unmute Clips' should be a toggle http://community.avid

So I was reading in another thread on this same subject and one of the posts mentioned some good reasons to stick with the old method. http://community.avid.com/forums/p/182863/924703.aspx#924703 They do have a point, so there is an easier solution: All that is required is for Avid to add one extra button which is a toggle, and keep the other two buttons

I think you have a fair point. Perhaps all Avid needs to do is add one extra button which is a toggle, and keep the other two buttons exactly as they are - then we can choose to either map a toggle that inverts Mute and Unmute, or map the two existing buttons for their current function. I might update the posts I made to the other Mute Clips Feature

+1 for Mute/Unmute toggle. AND for those that got used to the 2 button way, here's what could be done to keep your needs available IF the mute/unmute is retored to a true toggle (please not a cycle between three - maybe that could be a separate button?) If you were wanting to Unmute all muted clips on the timeline, then you can currently do this

And like every other binary function in Avid (This is one aspect of Avid I particularly like - if it's binary, it's a toggle button (except Mute/Unmute - which is confusing). So +1 for me
