I have seen threads started by users who have problems when using Title Tool or SubCaps.If they are working in more than one language and they try to change languages MC will quite often "hang".I recently received a tip from Mr. Egawa of Avid Technology in Japan about a setting in Windows that should prevent this from happening.Although this may not be troubling many users I feel it is a very useful tip.

in my MC3.1.2, when I made a title, and saved and exit the Title tool, MC responded very slow... Sometimes it took up to 20 seconds to save and redraw the screen and buttons that were below the title tool. Because I work with two languages -English and Spanish- I followed his tip for Text Services and Input Languages in Windows XP (to extend support of advanced text services to all programs). I discovered that this was the cause for the long saving time of Titles of the basic Title Tool in Avid bins. Sometimes it took up to 30 seconds to save a bin and redraw the screen/interface. With the support of advanced text services to all programs disabled, everything is normal again and MC is speedy again! Maybe it doesn't occur as a general problem, but I hope this way I can help others who experience the slow Saving of Titles in their Media Composer. Keep up the good work Douglas!
