"Plunge Quest" is the first in an 8 part web-series for Special Olympics Maryland to bring awaeness to their upcoming Polar Bear Plunge in the Chesapeake Bay on 01-24-09. Instead of the bleeding heart approach they're saying, "hey this is a fun event that everyone should participate in, and we'll raise some money for a good cause while we do it." One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen at 2524m. At the top of this mountain some years ago a battle had taken place, where over 10.000 Serbs lost their lifes. Prophet Elias the small church has been built among other materials with the bones of the soldiers who died there and from some bombs from airplanes as you can see. An exceptional story. I made those shots with an HV20 while the cameraman was shooting the main angles for the documentary I am doing for a prefecture.

ASCRS holds an annual Hall of Fame awards show. This 15 second animation proceeded each video module at the show. Pulled together archival film material, still photos, and original graphics to composite the final animation using Avid Xpress Pro, XSI and a little help from After Effects.

I used Softimage|XSI to design, model and animate this. It could use more refinement, particularly in the material texture/color and in modeling, but it does an adequate job, IMHO in demonstrating how this device works.

I designed this based on my client and friend, Johan DeBroyer's idea. It features a "sandwiched disk" which helps to make this a highly unique invention.
