When we were small, we always hoped for growing up. We imagined a lot about how our life would be when we grew up: falling in love, meeting many people, dreams coming true. There would be many possibilities of how our life will be. We did not know the reason why the imagination was so beautiful, is that we had no idea about the reality.

When we grow up, the reality always gives us many limitations and disappoints us. We get lost in the big city, the big world, and having no way to leave. Therefore, We started to crave for the purity and hopefulness in the past.

I had this idea for a while, but didn't want to use it, as I thought the movie will be too dark and uneappealing.I decided to use it as I am in a tough moment in my life, but deep down inside I think that I have to pick myself up eventually and overcome the issues.

Cinema is an illusion and the twists a movie has can embellish most of its wonderful world. That is why I tried to create an illusion, on a smaller scale, of course. The mood changes and the twist justifies the false appeareance. They say "looks can be deceiving" and I tried to use this idea as my main theme.

A TV commercial made for an assignment at the International Film College.

Made for Dance Nation Academy of Performing Arts. Credits go to Leanne Nolan(Editor), Sophie Forsythe (Camera), Kiera Hopper (Camera) and Fred Nolan (DOP)

It was made for my dance studio because I love dancing and I wanted to express it using my love for film making and editing.

We shot it on a Panasonic P2 and Sony Z1p in HDV and edited in Premiere Pro CS3.

It was heaps of fun to make and a learning experience for the crew as it was our first assignment of the year!

A short exploration into the many sides of skateboarding.

Skateboarding is often portrayed in a negative light, so I thought I would make a short film showing the fun, friendships, difficulties and creativity surrounding this 'sport'.

Although very different from my original commonplace idea for this film competition, I decided to go with this. Enjoy.

We're exploring ideas of energy as a sense: energy transfer, equilibrium, offset equilibrium, unsustainable energy.

I think the editing, inter-cutting between the different dancers, following a flowing motion through out the different dancers, dances, and themes, at least makes the viewer consider at a base level: the transfer of a something, a clock, and a pendulum. Each of these are very kinetic, and so I'm happy with the end product.
