It’s hard to believe that summer has come to an end. I hope you all enjoyed yours. I enjoyed the annual BAVUG summer BBQ at Avid. We always seem to catch the rain. Although thankfully, it didn’t last long. Here’s to some great fall meetings coming up. I hope you saw the few pictures that I took. If you missed the September meeting, here's a recap. If you attended, share your feedback on the meeting and the product presented.

The speaker this month was Len Sitomer from PortalVideo Inc.

The audience, consisting manly of editors, found it to be an interesting product although they all seemed to have mixed emotions about it. This tool allows the producers to do the grunt work of rough editing the early stages of a project. It can then be exported to an Avid system for final editing. Many editors feel that good about being spared the early work but as service providers they hate to lose this part of their business.

I thought I would try out the group area for a discussion on the meeting to get an idea of what we can do with it.

I would like to get some ideas that you have for the summer BBQ. Do you want to do the same as we did last year? Anything you would like to do differently?
