  • DV footage looks flat in Avid

    Hi, I've digitized some DV tapes into my new Avid Media Composer (Version 3.5.4) but the captured pictures look really flat. Compared to the footage in the camera viewer they look kind of milky and have much less contrast and colors. I don't have a separate monitor, just using the Avid window... (read more)

  • DV Export = Small Screen

    I've been creating DV tapes for awhile and all was fine, but now for some reason whenever I export a DV Stream it creates the DV with a smaller screen than I have had in the past. The finished image takes up half the space in the QT viewer now. Any thoughts about how to get a DV with the larger image... (read more)

  • Resolutions for Capture/Import

    Hi, Please enlighten me. Is there a benefit for capturing DV materials to half or even lower reoslution? Say, I am initially woring with a laptop and a small USB drive but plans to upres and finish on a full system. Also, please explain the different reslutions available. Which ones goes up/down?   • Exporting Pal Project to NTSC Deck

    Hi everyone, A film that I've recently edited in PAL on MC has been accepted into a film festival in US and they're asking me to send a mini dv that is NTSC.     UPDATE: I just noticed that m2t files keeps his resolution even when imported to a DV project. But QT (HD) files can be affected by the import setting. Can some one clarify this? thanks. (read more)

    Thanks! So, should I import the m2t files on it's native format?...i mean do I need to change the project format before importing? Does it matter? Just making sure I'm not loosing a lot. In addition, when importing, I noticed that some of the m2t files gives an error but some imports fine. (read more)

  • Streamclip settings .MOD

    I recently purchased a Panasonic sdr-h60 hard drive camcorder as a backup cam. I use Streamclip to convert the .MOD files to .dv files. They look great and edit great in AVID. The thing is a .MOD file of about 35mb will end up as a 70mb .dv file (approx. doubling in size). Is the .dv export the best... (read more)
