i had MC2.8 & DS 8.4 on a similar machine, no probs..... It should not be a problem running MC4 & DS10.3 soft / 32, but to get RT preformance in DS 10+ i think you will need a 3700 videocard, so you may have a fair bit of rendering of effects/cc's etc etc... Actually, you don't need to change the file name. With the MXF transcoded material, the metadata is more important. You can go back and transcode to 185 and drop that into your MXF storage and DS will use that, as long as your seq settings tell it to. We've used this method for sending footage... (read more)

Make Quick Effects your friend. By default it pops up with F2 and is such a quick way of accessing your most-used effects.
