Is it even possible to be able to import AVCHD files into MC 5 faster than realtime? I was told by an Avid Salesman that it was possible, but when I downloaded the free trial it's taking up to twice as long as the video clip to import. If I had the fastest computer would it be possible? I know AVCHD is a highly compressed format.
In order to achieve the faster than realtime imports, I've been looking at a Sony XDCAM EX camera. From the video I've seen it looks like Avid still has to rewrap the EX file but they said it is up to 5x faster than realtime. I also would like to know if you think my system would be able to handle this. I don't have the mojo dx or adrenaline. I would just be using the SBAC US10 card reader to bring the files into the computer. I'm kind of being thrown into the HD world with me only working with MiniDv tapes so this seems daunting to me. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
About AVCHD import, the faster the computer, the faster it will import. And it depends the import codec you choose for import. They all have different importing times.
But it will be hard to import faster than real time, maybe with the fastest computer on the market!

Thanks for your response Sylvain, I know there are so many variables to consider and that my question was probably too broad in scope.
