I have been using the MC trial for a week or so now and I received my upgrade box with the discs, and activation codes.
I went to activate the trial software I have installed and entered the system ID and serial number. I then registered my details, and a dialogue box said "software activation successful" then immediately another one came up saying "activation failed" when I clicked on OK the next one said something like number of seats 1, activated seats 1.
I have tried repeating the process, restarting the software and the computer.
Do I need to install the software supplied on my disc?
Any help please?

I have seen this with an upgrade, where you don't deactivate the old version before upgrading to the new version. However, coming from a trial version to a new version is new to me. Did you uninstall everything Avid before installing the "permanent" version?

I didn't uninstall as I was led to believe, from some posts on this forum, that I could simply activate the trial into the full version - saving me the job of reinstalling as I had started some test projects already.
I could uninstall and reinstall the full version but am waiting on a reply from Todd (blkdog) - I guess he's home for the weekend now as an avid support employee, and also I don't want to uninstall the trial and then find out I cannot access the full version. At least now I can still carry on working in the trial version.
Todd sorted me out now by deactivating at his end - needed to reinstall anyway, but all my settings stayed the same.
Excellent support from Avid.
