Hi, we've just come across this issue on Symphony, and came across this post :
http://community.avid.com/forums/t/52794.aspx in the MC forum, has anyone had any experiences with this on V3+ or know where there's a clip by clip render setting as per our e-mail correspondance with the developer below? Bill at Stagetools has been great at getting back to us but seems a bit vague on the setting he's referring to.
Me:"We've just purchased MovingPicture but are having an issue in that it always seems torender interlaced even in a progressive Avid project. We came across something on theAvid forums from late 2007 suggesting that you knew of this issue and had a new betaversion??? Any info you have would be useful. We're onlining on a Symphony NitrisV3.5.9 in a 1080 25p project. Let me know if there's any more info you need."
Bill at Stagetools :
"Avid can now set the field mode on a per-clip basis, so check that setting on the Avidand make sure it's set to progressive."
Me :
"Thanks for your reply. I guess you're alluding to the fact that since version 3? youcan mix interlaced and progressive on one timeline. Does this meant that MovingPicturelooks at the resolution (i/p) of the placeholder clip rather than the project settingswhen deciding whether to render progressive or interlaced? If I've misunderstood youperhaps you could clarify where the clip by clip setting you refer to resides?"
"Yes. Someshere you can set the interlace on a clip by clip basis.I would assume avid takes a cue from the placeholder and project for the default, but Idon't really know."Any thoughts appreciated - I have also posted this in the original thread but thought I'd put it here as well in case it's a Symphony only issue
regards
Brian
In 4.0 when a Motion Adapter is applied to a clip, thus this required a frame rate conversion of some type, there is a Field Motion heading in the bin to change the type of pulldown on the clip. In a sequence a clip with a Motion Adapter can be promoted to a TimeWarp effect.

Hi Bob,
I'm not convinced that this in any way refers to Brian's question.
This is a cross post from the Avid Media Composer PC thread (historically) which raises questions about StageTools ability to render progressive media whilst in a progressive project.
Specifically in version 3.5.9 Symphony Nitris.
Apologies for the confusion.

Ian

This sounds exactly like the Field Motion heading or promoting a clip with with a Motion Adapter to a TimeWarp.
