Is there an equivalent to the FCP plugin Supawipe available in MC?

Basically, as the header states, is there an equivalent to the FCP plugin Supawipe available in MC? For those who are not familiar with it, the plugin allows you to quickly create graphic wipe transition effects. Thanks in advance for any pointers/help.

You could use Animatte to accomplish this.

You could also research Plasma Wipes.

There was a KB article on how to make them.

Someone here, I think Mark Burton, a few years back made some great soft edge diagonal wipes and posted how he did it. From memory it was fairly simple but you needed to make both PAL and NTSC ones to make it work.

Thanks for the continued dongle support

Great. Thanks. I'll look into both options.

This sounds like something you can do in AvidFX (Boris Red) which comes w/ MC.

I am working my way through the class on demand training dvd for Red/AVID FX at the moment. Hopefully, I can work out a way to create a preset and save that in a bin. Thanks

I think there should be. The Effect Palette has a lot of wipes in it, both of the Avid and Boris variety, so I have to think you'll find an answer. I don't use wipes much, so I'm sorry I can't be more specific.

Re: Is there an equivalent to the FCP plugin Supawipe available in MC?

Plasma effects won't do it. I also used to be able to do a similar thing in AVID Liquid with HFX Pro (which I now no longer have)! I have tried doing it in red with no success - it does not seem to pick up the alpha on the images and I end up with an image on a white canvas moving across the video clips. Is there a good tutorial on animatte? There must be a simple way to create this effect? I want the image to wipe across video A and reveal video B underneath as it passes; e.g. an organization's logo, or a bouquet of flowers/rings etc. The images can be tiff or jpeg. Anyone? On the PC there is a package called Adorage which does this sort of thing but it does not work with MC. It also does not work on a Mac. Any ideas welcomed. Any pointers to tutorials also welcomed. Thanks in advance.
