    DS to Symphony

What's required to transfer a DS Nitris v8 to a Symphony Nitris v4?

Is it just a matter of obtaining a license for Windows XP 32 bit, a new system drive, a Symphony license and installing the lot? How much is the upgrade to dual boot as it were?

The DS is running I believe on an xw8200 or perhaps on an 8000 don't know yet.

    Thanks, David.

I don't believe Avid sells the Dual Boot Kit any longer. You'll have to contact your Avid reseller for options and pricing.

Do you plan on keeping your DS 8? If so the highest version supported with DS 8 QFE 3 & 4 is SN 1.6.6 to 1.7.

Avid DS / Symphony Nitris (Classic) Dual Boot Compatibility

You'll need to upgrade to DS 10.2 to run SN 4.0.

The latest version of SN that's supported on an xw8000 is 1.8.4. The xw8200 is supported with SN 4.0, but be sure the computer has 4 Gig or RAM and a powerful GFX card.
