How to import xdcam ex 1280/720 50p

    Hi,

I have some footage shot in a weird format 1280/720 50p.

Cant find out how to import in MC 3.5!

I used the ex clipbrowser software 2.0 from sony (aaaargghhhh) to copy the native files to disk and then export using export mxf fot nles. Can avid handle this format or d I have to convert it to another format first, and how do I do THAT? (Cursed but not fired the cameraguy - yet...)

    Hi,

I'm not sure if it exist in 3.5 or not, but you should just be able to link the volume using AMA in media composer. But regardless, using the clip browser and exporting the clips as MXF's for NLE, you should be able to import them easily enough.

If you use "Link AMA" it's probably worth your while transcoding all the footage into AVID DNHD codec to improve workflow and performance before you get to far into the project.

I primarily use the EX1 in my workflow and AVID has really made the process nice and simple. It hasn't always been the case and other editing software was much better (premiere's natve support is excellent) but AVID is now my first choice.

So, no need to convert once it has been converted to MXF. Just import the new MXF files into a bin, it will take a little time.
